Septentrion Finance advised on the sale of Minus Editions to Actes Sud.
10/07/2026
Founded in 2012 in the Hauts-de-France region by Alexandra Butruille, Julie Verley, and Amélie Boï, Minus Editions is a publishing house specializing in books and games designed to foster shared moments between generations (child-adult duos or families). Its formats are crafted to encourage discussion, introspection, and the sharing of memories.
Minus Editions stands out with its unique and original positioning, primarily targeting parents and aiming to strengthen exchange, communication, and complicity with children. Its books and games tackle meaningful themes with humor, sensitivity, and a pedagogical approach, encouraging reflection while entertaining.
The Minus catalog features just over a hundred titles, distributed across nearly 1,500 retail points in France and Europe. Since 2024, the company has also exclusively distributed Kencre’s artisanal screen-printed posters.
To support the company’s growth—with an average annual growth rate of 25% over the past five years—the partners of Minus Editions entrusted Septentrion Finance with the mission of identifying a buyer sharing their values and editorial vision.
Recognized for the quality of its catalog and the rigor of its editorial line, Actes Sud emerged as the natural successor for Minus Editions.
Based in Arles since 1983, Actes Sud has built a cohesive universe around a core belief: that stories, ideas, and cultural experiences have the power to unite and spark curiosity across all audiences.
Through this acquisition, Actes Sud strengthens its presence among families, a audience already captivated by its publications, particularly in the fields of youth literature and graphic novels.
The transaction was finalized on May 18, 2026.
