Septentrion Finance has advised on the acquisition of Cousin Group
23/09/2022
The Dalle family, which acquired Cousin Group in 2007, has chosen to hand over the business to Antoine and Tanguy Fortin. Tanguy Fortin will serve as the Group’s CEO, with the mission of driving continued growth of the company based in Wervicq-Sud (Northern France).
Founded in 1848, Cousin Group is a French manufacturer specialized in the transformation of synthetic fibers through twisting, cabling, braiding, and impregnation.
Through its subsidiary Cousin Trestec, the Group is a recognized player in the production of technical ropes for leisure (kitesurfing, yachting, climbing, paragliding, mountaineering, etc.), safety (lifting, rigging, arboriculture, events, etc.), industry, and defense.
The Group’s other operating subsidiary, Cousin Composites, is the exclusive string supplier for Tecnifibre and notably manufactures the racket strings used by Daniil Medvedev (ATP world No. 4) and Iga Świątek (WTA world No. 1). Cousin Composites is also active in fiber optic cabling and building infrastructure (guying systems and cable pulling needles).
The Group employs over 150 people and generates €30 million in annual revenue.
The new owners — in particular Tanguy Fortin — aim to build on Cousin's product quality and innovation leadership to accelerate the Group’s development, especially internationally.
The change of ownership became effective on September 15, 2022.
