Septentrion Finance has advised Log’s Group in its merger with Deret Group

06/04/2022

Log’s Group, owned and led by Franck Grimonprez since its founding in 2002, is joining forces with Deret Group, a specialist in Transport and Logistics owned and managed by Lucien Deret and his family.

Founded in 2002 in the Hauts-de-France region by its current CEO Franck Grimonprez, Log’s Group specializes in logistics for e-commerce, retail, and industry. Log’s Group employs over 3,000 full-time equivalents and operates across nearly 1,000,000 m² of warehousing space (approximately 40 sites). The Group recently inaugurated its latest logistics campus in Wattrelos (59), delivering nearly 128,000 m² in two phases.

After 20 years of organic growth and several acquisitions (notably the takeover of Viapost Logistique Connectée (VLC) activities at the end of 2019), Franck Grimonprez takes a new strategic step by merging with Deret Group.

Sharing the same DNA, values, and growth ambitions, and following a successful pilot joint venture launched in 2020 between Deret and Log’s dedicated to client MOBIVIA on a nearly 100,000 m² platform in Meung-sur-Loire, Franck Grimonprez and the Deret family decided to unite their Groups.

By contributing Log’s Group (with nearly €250 million in revenue) to Deret Group (nearly €210 million in revenue), Franck Grimonprez helps create one of the top 5 logistics players in France.

Lina Deret, current Chairwoman of Deret Group, will take on the role of CEO of Log’s Group, while Franck Grimonprez will remain Chairman.

Prior to this transaction, Deret Group employed around 1,400 people across 8 platforms totaling approximately 600,000 m². Deret Group has earned a strong reputation in logistics serving the cosmetics, luxury, textile, healthcare, and automotive sectors.

The transaction became effective on March 29, 2022.
