Septentrion Finance has advised the executives and founders of Drawer on the sale of their minority stake

14/10/2024

After acquiring a 70% majority stake in April 2022, BUT took full control of Drawer in October 2024.

Founded 13 years ago by Guillaume and Valérie Spriet, Drawer is a pure player in the online distribution of stylish and affordable furniture. Driven by the vision of its founders, Drawer.fr was named Best E-commerce Site in the Furniture category by Capital magazine in April 2024 and is recognized as one of France’s leading Digital Native Vertical Brands (DNVBs).

Since its inception, the brand has focused on offering a unique, accessible, and contemporary collection to furnish and decorate the homes of its French and Belgian customers. Positioned as an online concept store and key partner to several marketplaces, Drawer offers more than 5,000 references sourced directly from manufacturers around the world, alongside a curated selection of European brands. The site welcomes over 300,000 visitors per month and processes more than 6,000 orders on average.

This transaction also marks the appointment of Thomas Thumerelle as the new CEO of Drawer, following a joint decision by the majority shareholder and the founders, Guillaume and Valérie Spriet. With more than 20 years of experience in e-commerce, Thomas brings his expertise to support Drawer’s next stage of growth. He will leverage synergies with BUT to strengthen the product offering and benefit from operational scale, particularly in logistics and support functions.

"I would like to sincerely thank Valérie and Guillaume for their outstanding leadership at Drawer. Their energy, passion, and dedication have turned their vision into a dynamic and pioneering company, all while maintaining an innovative and customer-focused approach. Their vision has made Drawer a key digital player in the furniture sector. It’s an inspiring entrepreneurial journey, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors." —  Alexandre Falck, CEO of BUT Conforama

The transaction was completed on October 2, 2024.
