Septentrion Finance has advised SGM Group on the acquisition of Ateliers du Grand Châtelet (AGC)

Septentrion Finance has advised SGM Group and Michael Vergin on the acquisition of Ateliers du Grand Châtelet (AGC), a specialist in precision machining parts manufacturing.
Founded in 1955 and based in Versoud, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Ateliers du Grand Châtelet (AGC) specializes in manufacturing machining parts of various sizes. The company has been acquired by SGM Group, led by Nicolas Breuvart, and Michael Vergin. Septentrion Finance supported the buyers throughout this transaction.
With nearly €4 million in revenue in 2021, AGC produces and markets medium to large-sized parts for industrial clients and companies specializing in large-scale construction projects. The company operates a manufacturing workshop in Versoud and employs over 20 people.
This acquisition is part of a strategic plan to build a coherent French industrial group focused on precision mechanics and power transmission via gears (reducers/multipliers). Indeed, SGM Group already has operations in northern France through SGM, specializing in precision mechanical maintenance, and in eastern France through PROMEA, which designs and manufactures speed reducers and multipliers.
The integration of AGC brings complementary expertise, enabling the Group to better meet customer needs while offering localized service.
